As in the title does anyone know when this is likely to be and will there be a performance gain over x1950 pro?

Want to upgrade to a decent gfx card in my agp system to make it last a few more months before full system upgrade when the new goodies come out in Q1 08

i wish it would happen, but i cant see it happening :(

ill prob have to say good bye to AGP soon and get an 8800gt :)

not pointless, i want something decent to play with over month off at xmas and also will use it as a second pc once i have a new build.

EDIT TITLE do i mean the HD 3850?

i would either upgrade now or wait with your 1950pro. there wont be anymore high end cards released on AGP

TBH waste of time as AMD 64 is the fastest you can get on AGP now?

And I saw a performance improvement with a X1900XTX going from AMD64 @ 2.5 to E6600 @ 2.4

So basically its a waste of money and time now really.

HI there

Yes HD 3850 is coming to AGP! :)

We are also trying to get some HD 3870's bridged over to AGP and its looking promising. The only difference is AGP 3870's will be GDDR3 based and not GDDR4.

the breath life into my single core 939 agp system

anways, as said earlier you're limited with cpu's, meanign even with a 3870, you'l still have limited performance through your cpu.. and if you're existing motherboard doesnt support dual core, then the only thign i can think of is
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-011-AK&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=205

its (compared to the top notch motherboards, pretty poor) but it will except 1066fsb processors, agp, pcie, ddr and dd2 ... beware you cant overclock the ram, and you can only have 2gb of the stuff.. im using the mobo at the mo, but will hopefully be getting an asus p5k soon.. but for £40 , it's an acceptable stop-gap

Thanks Gibbo, any idea if either of these will be released before xmas? Currently running 6600gt so if they not out before xmas will get an x1950 pro cos wanna play Crysis during my time off.

I have agp and pci-e x4, I might consider an agp card, but it is looking like they will be downgraded versions, but charged at a higher price... so pci-e for the win ;)
