I just installed my HD4670 but everytime i try to install the drivers it comes up with "Application install: not enough disc space" even though i have 354GB left. I think its something to do with the D drive

It continues on and at the end "Failures occured during installation"

The failure is

Micsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable. How can i fix this! I've tried rebooting in safemode and uninstalling the drivers, then reinstalling.

HELP :(

What make is the 4670? Its not by any chance the passively cooled Sapphire one is it? I put one in my brothers computer and it got quite hot before I cable tied a 120mm fan onto the heatsink. Doesn't go over 60c now. If its a different make, try adjusting the fan speed in CCC.

but its barely under 60c when idle :S When playing wow its almost up to 100. even at the fan speed at 70%

Its this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-184-SP

Hey Soulmagika,

welcome to the wonderful world of hardware that ***** you up! :p

I can't say I have any idea what is going on over there although you mentioned something about the D:\ drive? what's that got to do with this I don't follow?

Also what OS are you using? Windows XP, Vista, 7 etc?

Oh sorry ive fixed that now, but im more worried about this what i said above

I don't think its one you'd know, i think its a custom one. (also, at 50% fan speed its idle temp is about 45-50.

Try me. I can always Google it if I don't know. Idle temps are ok anyway. If you are concerned about the load temps, you could always try reseating the heatsink or install an aftermarket heatsink.

How do i find out what case it is?

Edit: Also, should i put the fan any higher? to like 80 or 90%?

Probably easiest way would be to take a pic and post it on here and someone might know what it is. You can try the fan at higher speed if you want to. There will probably be more noise but it should cool it more.

Wow does seem to push the heat up a little, even on my main computer but I wouldnt be happy running at nearly 100degrees for more than a few hours and if you play wow you will be on there longer than that lol

Wack the fans up full and see what the noise is like

Hmm, it isnt TOO bad :) I put it to 80% and it was about as loud as my last computer and the fan went down to 68-74 while playing age of conan.

The case has a bad airflow probably, which explains the high temps.

It shouldnt matter if you have the case off, its just easier to collect dust inside.

How did you find the performance by the way?? You happy with it?? Good enough jump??

Yeah its an excellent jump! :D Running crysis at med-high at 30-40 fps and fallout at ultra high at 40-50FPS is amazing, im surprised it works so well!

Also, now that i have the fan at 80% is it ok running it like that all the time or should i lower it back to 50% when im done? also, whats a "safe" temp for idle and when playing games?
