HD 4670 question

Hey there y'all, i just recieved my HD 4670, heres how it went.

I took out my old one, uninstalled the drivers etc and put in my 4670. What i'm wondering is, it didn't come with any wires or anything, i just put it in properly. Was there ment to be any wires to plug in or anything? :S
 
No, 4670's don't require external power so its just a slot in and go card :)

Good cards too.

Nope, the 4670 gets all its power from the PCI-E slot, so no extra PCI-E power leads are needed.

Bah, beaten to it by HeX :D
 
Well theres 2 Things that could be wrong.

Either your out of diskspace.

Or you need to update your Microsoft Visual C++ files. etc

I havnt done this in a while, either search on there website, or maybe someone can provide a link?

Or you can just update your windows, should be in there.

Is it a big problem?
 
Well if your drivers havnt installed fully, your graphics card wont work fully, if at all.

Uninstall your drivers
Download Driversweeper
Boot up in safe mode, run driversweeper and delete the ati files.
then restart in normal and install your drives again.


What service pack are you running and what OS?
Right click My Computer > Properties, tis all in there.

Erm, 64bit Vista?

Also, how do i boot up in safe mode? and do i have to download driversweeper?
 
When you start your computer, press F5, i think it is (Always forget)
And it should come up with a menu, just chose Safe Mode.

This starts your computer up with only the required files etc. No drivers.

Well Driversweeper (or equivelent) is required to delete all the old ATI files, its always better to install drivers after doing this, so theres no conflicts.

Edit: Yes, correct me if im wrong but you should always remove nvidia drivers when switching to ATI, and vice versa.
But boot up in safe mode and use driver sweeper to remove these after uninstalling.

Well, you were wrong :(

Took me about 7 hours to fix all this crap :( and i still havent.

First of all i accidentally deleted a network adapter connected with nvidia and then i had to fix it all without internet, and then done a system restore.

So basically, im back to where i started.. its saying no disc space..
 
His nvidia drivers may be chipset ones not gfx it would help if you put up your spec. Seem to be a few people having this problem lately and i can't offer any help as although i use vista 64 on my own pc and on my sons he has a 4670 i have never had the problem. One thing i would suggest is to try and download the drivers only rather then the whole ccc install and see if that works.
 
Do you have any partitions in your hardrive? Maybe your trying to install it on your OS partition?

Imo just delete everywith Nvidia and all your other crap.
Grab CCleaner and driversweeper and clean it up.

Try installing again with all admin rights, not sure what else to say.
 
Have you tried using a previous set of drivers to see if it is just the latest ones that you are having a problem with?
