HD 4850 fan speed?

Is it safe to run the hd 4850 fan at 100% constantly? will it shorten the life of the cards cooler/fan or anything like that?, i dont mind the noise because the computer will be in the front room where the TV is always on.

I'd imagine you would shorten the lifespan of the fan considerably running it at 100% all the time, not to mention the racket!

I don't see a need to run it much over 40% myself, that seems to be the sweet spot, fairly quiet and cools well, you could go a bit higher if you needed but anything over 40% was a bit noisy!

So i definately shouldnt do it?, or what about something like 60/70%, like i said i dont mind if it sounds like a jet engine.

Do what you feel is best but is there a good reason to have the fan spinning at 100% all the time?

If you want to overcool the card then just set it to 50% and your good to go.

can u set fan profiles in rivatuner for ATI cards?

I have mine at 45% and overclocked also, idles at 40'. Unless you sit your PC on the radiator I don't know why it would need to run at 100%...
