Hello there. Just built my first computer. Been looking at my ati overdrive for the 4890 card i have installed. I have unlocked it and had a little play around. Before I did that I was looking at the temperature which was around 60 degrees. I thought to myself that seems a little high just doing nothing so I bumped up the manual fan control to 60 % and it reduced down to 42 degrees idle. Is 60 degrees ok for it doing zero workload? Seems little high to me, but then I am a noob. Also is fan control at 60 % too high?/ should I leave it like that all the time?

Thanks!

High, 60C is fine, GPUs run much hotter than CPUs, so long as it doesnt go above 100 on load I wouldnt worry, theres no problem running your fan at whatever speed, so long as you can cope with the noise, if its stock cooler then 60% prob sounds quite loud, but if you dont mind it then no probs, I used to use CCC to set up 2 profiles, one for normal desktop use 35% and one for gaming 70%
