I've got the 5770 and i want to make sure that it dosen't over heat so i'm going to put the fan on it to 100% every time i game. I was just wondering is there any software to easily change the fan speed without having to go into the CCC?

Thanks

If you are worried about it overheating I would suggest stress testing it with the standard fan profile and see how it handles it. Try running furmark for 10 minutes and see what temperature it gets up to.

I wouldn't suggest overriding the fan speed to 100% in games as this gets really very loud and isn't required - so long as your case has half-decent airflow then the standard fan profile should be fine.

If you do want to make a fan profile then I would have a look at MSI afterburner.

Ok but what should be a safe temp? I ran furmark for about 1 min and it went to 50 Deg. It idles at 36 Deg.

Anything below 100 is safe

My old 5770 maxed 71C in furmark for 30 mins and the fan went to about 70-80%

Games will never push a GPU as hard as Furmark so the temperature will be lower and the fan speed will be lower. So I wouldn't bother with the 100% or a custom fan profile the standard one is absolutely fine.

edit: My GTX480 (one of the hottest cards around) idles at 44C @ 30% fan and reaches 80-82C on The Witcher 2 and the fan reaches 70-75%.

The fan will step up automatically to keep the temps in check, as said anything up to 100C is safe. My 8800GT would hit 104C on its stock cooler in furmark :o
