HD 5830/5850 advice

Hello, just wanted some advice on getting a new graphics card. I am tempted by the HD 5830, or the 5850 if it comes down in price and was wondering what would to do. Should I wait for AMD's new Southern Island chips, or should i get a 5830/5850 now, and corssfire them later on when the new cards are released and the current generation becomes cheaper?
