HD 5850 upgrade

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my card from a hd 5850 to something around £150-250, but I don't want to spend too much on a card that will be bottlenecked by the rest of my system. I'm looking at a GTX 970, but wanted to ask if its really worth it considering the rest of my system:

i5 3.4ghz overclocked to 4.6
hd5850 1gb
8gb DDR3 ram
500gb HDD
Windows 7

I don't think you will suffer a bottle neck with that system. What specs are the ram?

Why would that matter? it's obviously a K series and the last time I checked the 2500k was still a very respectable CPU.

The rest of your system is absolutely fine. You can blame Intel for showing off for that

Thanks for the replies, I can't remember the ram specs so I'll have to find out when I get home from work later. I bought a bundle with mobo ram and CPU a year or two back. The CPU is a 2500k I believe.
