HD 5850 VPU instability?

Whenever I'm playing WoW, the game would freeze for couple of seconds, go black, then resume for a bit before it all happens again, seems to happen in certain areas in the game.

I know it's not overheating, the card stays at 50c~, not sure if it's the overclock (850mhz core, from 725mhz stock) because it's stable in Furmark (probably not the best way to test)

I get a warning saying that AMD graphic drivers has been recovered, something like that.

Anything I can do to fix it?

Also, upgrade suggestions? I've been holding off on upgrading with the 7xxx series coming soon but the longer I wait, the harder I find it to hold on. ): Nvidia or AMD, I don't mind, as long as it gives a nice boost over my HD 5850 at £250 (more or less) price point.

have you the latest driver installed?
also try returning it to stock speed ans see if it happens again

Installing the latest driver didn't help but re-seating the graphic card helped for a week before it all happened again.

Trying with stock speed now.

are you o/clocking with afterburner , try tweaking the voltage up a tad . is it only wow try going back to an old driver , i found 10.9 s very solid

Yeah, using Afterburner to overclock.

Lowered the clock speed to 835Mhz, so far no crash.
