Hello peeps, this is my first post so be gentle!

My problem is I'm getting BSOD quite a lot and getting error like page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, system_service_exception and driver_irql_not_less_or_equal?! It's an OC Ultima Viper with a XFX AvP 5870 and I've been getting these errors more and more over the last couple of weeks but only when I'm gaming so I'm assuming its the 5870! I have un-installed the drivers and installed 10.5 cat a couple of times and it seems ok for a session but then starts messing around again? Does anyone know of a fix for this, driver issue or is me gcard buggered?!?! Any replies welcome.

Many thanks,

Diym

Just the cpu i7 930 oc 4ghz, which came with the system when I bought it a few weeks ago! I haven't done anything, thought about it but didn't want to lose warranty just in case I have to send it back!

Errors like page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, system_service_exception and driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, are quite typical of an unstable overlcock.

Have you tested the system at stock speeds?
Run Memtest?

Nope and nope!
I'm a noob at the whole oc business, so I don't know how to return it to stock to test! But I can run a Memtest to see if it shows up anything. Also would an unstable oc mean high temps, as I have coretemp and they never rise higher than 66 degrees, or is that high?!

Cheers,

Diym

I have noticed that my system does get really hot when playing games (airflow gets hot from exhausts) but the CPU remains stable at around 60c does this mean the gpu is naffed or as you've suggested the ram is the problem?!

I used to get driver_irql_not_less_or_equal errors when my Motherboard was faulty. Motherboard eventually turned into a BIOS Checksum error then stopped posting altogether.

Might be motherboard.

Hey just thought I'd update you all! Returned it to stock and no problems so far! Gona oc slowly to see how far I can go, cheers for suggestions peeps
