Quick question I have just ordered the hd 5870 gpu and was wondering will the xfx 550w core psu be enough for this card or is the ocz 600w a better choice..

I have a 4 core Phenom II, 4gb ram, 4 hdd,s, dvd, microatx board, 6 fans and currently a 5770...

Cheers

I'm stuck tbh I have been looking at going for the 650w either corsair or xfx modular just to be safe but then reading some reviews and looking at the recomended needed for the 5870 the xfx 550w should be more than enough and will save me £25...

At this rate I will have the GPU with no PSU to power it..

Just spoke to XFX and a very helpfull and knowledgeable chap recomended the 650w. He said the 550w will power the 5870 fine but with all my other hardware it would be close to the limit. So I will be ordering the 650w modular one in a moment...

Really good serive form XFX..

I don't think you will be close to the limit at all. But the 650W XXX Edition is the better out of the two (not because of the extra wattage).

I went for a 650w corsair TX in the end. It seems the best rated and gets good reviews... now to hope it all fits in my case...
