HD 6850 driver problem?

I installed the driver from windows update which was called:
ATI Technologies Inc. - Display - AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

That worked fine, and then I did something or other and it deleted basically, and now I can't find it again?!

The catalyst driver thing won't work as it says it has no base driver *The windows update one*.


Where can I find this? All I can find on the AMD site is the 6xxx downloads not the 68xx downloads...
 
Any of the correct OS current drivers on ATI's site should work, they release a pack which contains drivers for all the current cards.

Go to Game.Amd.Com and download the 11.12 or the 12.1 previews :)

I would usually use AMD's direct drivers even if you dont install the control panel, as the driver itself will be much newer.
 
Having all sorts of problems now.
It installed 'Overdrive' which upon opening BSOD'd me and as I was installing windows updates at the time now whenever it gets to 'configuring updates' on boot it BSODs.

On safe mode at the moment...
 
Removed everything AMD and it's no longer BSOD'ing.


Looked on driver sweeper (Driver remover) and I have a load of Nvidia drivers?!
