Doesn't look like it, same situation as the TwinFrozr III

The BIOS upgrade will make the OC clocks "unlock" but not shaders. The cards are by default locked pretty low in terms of OC Mhz.

In most cases only the first gen reference cards have those capabilities, the manufacturers seem to lock them down later.

A quick search on the forums here even just with "iceq" gives you a pile of results. :)

Heyy!

I'm looking at buying a new graphics card this friday. I'm looking at getting a 6950 and I'm hoping unlock the shaders for the 6970. I've been looking most of the day to try and find out if the below graphics card is able to be unlocked but I've had no luck in finding out if it's capable. Has anyone had any luck with it?

Thanks!!

I have this card, it will flash fine but no shader unlock:(.
The card is very good tho, i have mine clocked as per my sig (Seems to be the sweet spot) also runs very cool and Quiet :)

I know they don't all unlock but the sapphire dual fan dual bios 6950's seem to have one of the higher success rates. OP if you really want the performance of a 6970 guaranteed then go for the cheapest 6970, otherwise get the 6950 and try and unlock it, if not just give it a good overclock and it won't be too far behind.
