HD 7870 SAPPHIRE GHZ EDITION PROBLEM

loads of people seem to have the same kinda problem with this card. my first card and thats happened lol.

sapphire is in my bad books tbh

one more question.

when the gpu is mounted into the mobo would the output hdmi output on the board still display something on my tv or does the display just go via the gpu?

What display are you using?

Reason why i ask is
My old monitor would show a blank screen until i got the drivers on, the way round it was to use a analogue connection, vga/dvi-A. Then i could use my dvi-d cable.
Hdmi is a digital cable, so maybe a thought.

it came with a mini display to soemthing that looking like hdmi ( my hdmi cable wont fit this ) and like a vga to dvi.

i have no monitors in the house only tvs.

could you link me a cable/ connection which you think will do the job?

i would rather get it sorted than send it back tbh.

yeah the bios has been updated. still just a black screen.

when i switch to hdmi 2 on my tv which is for my pc it a sign comes up at what resolution its at. it does this for when i use my ps3, xbox and virgin. so its obvious that theres a signal going through but the tv is not displaying it.

would the gpu come factory set and a certain resolultion?

the tv is 1080p maybe thats why the screen is black.

i didnt have previous gpu and its always black.

im going tp try and see if my tv has a vga connection on the back. if so i will go to maplins later and get charged a fortune.

If that doesn't work do you know anyone that has a monitor you can borrow just to test with? Or even plug your gpu into someone elses machine to troubleshoot?

So you were using onboard graphics before? Try disabling those, or making sure it's set to auto in bios, tho should be by default anyways
