Hi,

I turned my pc on this morning to find that it was no longer displaying a picture to my monitor/tv. The fans are spinning up on the hd 7950 but the gfx card isn't being recognised either in my system explorer in the bios or on device manager when i boot into windows using the onboard gfx. Has anyone got any ideas of a possible fix? I'm assuming this is going to be the answer but is it broke?

Steve.

I've removed the battery to clear the cmos but that did nothing. I've re-seated the gpu a few times to no avail. I doubt very much that its still under warranty, i think the card is about 3 years old. Is there a chance that the issue could be the pcie x16 slot on the mobo rather than the card? Is there any way of checking if i don't have access to another gfx card?

This issue has cropped up again after a couple weeks of my hd7950 working fine. Nothing changed but i came down in the morning, turned my pc and on and... no signal from the gfx card. I've been trying to trouble-shoot today.
Quick question, when the card is in the pcie slot, the gfx card fans will run with or without the 2 power cables connected. When the power cables are disconnected should the card still show up in the device manager?
