HD 7970 GE ...Problem

Ok...well i noticed a little something today with my card and its core clock and wondered if anyone else has this issue

So i'm sitting here playing a game, i have MSI Afterburner down the systray, reports my core clock as 1100mhz ....all is normal

NOW! i've noticed....if i open a movie in WMP or have a flash video playing on say something like twitch.tv ....my core clock falls back to 1000mhz ...even if i still have my game running....as soon as i close the movie/flash video...my clocks revert back to there full 1100mhz

Is this supposed to happen?? its annoying me!! grrr

i imagine its some sort of setting in the boost frequencies that it cant boost if it isnt in 3d-only or something

someone will be along shortly who knows more than me about it

Well i think I've fixed the flash problem...had to disable the hardware acceleration option...doesn't seem to be clocking me back now .....media player is still causing trouble though....seems like it depends on the type of codec the movie uses...some films don't effect my core clock....and some do...strange

Same thing happens to me. Flash will cause the card to revert back to the settings from the graphic's card BIOS. Here are my results:

Stock 7850: 860MHz/4800MHz
MSi 7850 PE pre-overclock: 950MHz/4800MHz
MSi 7850 PE with my overclock: 1100Mhz/5500MHz

MSi 7850 PE

Single Screen: 300MHz/600MHz for 2D; 1100MHz/5500MHz for 3D
Single Screen with YouTube: 450MHz/4800MHz (locked)

Dual Screen: 400MHz/5500MHz for 2D; 1100MHz/5500MHz for 3D
Dual Screen with YouTube: 950MHz/4800MHz (locked)

hmmm...nooooo....i kinda hate installing things on my computer when i already have a program that does the job lol....im ocd about installing things that do the same thing! ...i guess i could try it

k, tried VLC...that seems to be fine, doesn't throttle me back...so must be a WMP problem somewhere
