HD camcorder for less than £250 with mic input if possible

I'm the ICT technician in a special needs school and one of my colleagues has been given £250 to spend on an HD camcorder to record assemblies and student presentations.

Can anyone suggest a decent HD camcorder for less than £250. And if possible one with a mic input so we can record students who are quite quiet when they talk. If an HD camcorder for £250 or less AND one with mic input isn't possible with the budget, we're planning to buy a decent microphone to be used on a computer for voice over recordings.

Have a look at the Sony CX220 or CX250

These are 'ok' for the money.....
