Im confused this may just solve all my problems

Motherboard ASUS M4A78LT-M LE

firstly
Bios sees both my 500GB F3 & my 1TB F3 in the Main settings tab

in Boot order i get the 1TB USB & CDDRIVE but not the 500GB?

im trying to install ubuntu. which was successful on my 500GB Samsung! it had some errors at the end pointing to a dodgy cd.

however when i reboot. the PC just sits there like its looking for the 500GB drive

im not missing somthing stupid here? like jumpers am i?

im pretty sure SATA drives dont need jumpers any more (only for speed?):rolleyes:

huh? tbh i didn't check last SATA pc i built didn't have primary SATA ports.

does it need to be in the primary then?

just checked
SATA1 = 500GB
SATA3 = CD
SATA6 = 1TB

EDIT - i think i found it in the bios theres a 2nd boot order! where you pick which HDD to boot from first.....

i hope this is it

In the mobo bios there should be an option to choose the HDD you boot from, this is seperate from the boot order.

Mine won'tboot with an active card reader in it, it subsitutes my boot drive to a USB device.
