Hi, have a Aska eclipse coming tommorrow, want to mount the HD under the DVD drive so i can remove the bottom drive bracket to improve airflow.
Can you get adaptors or a cage? Maybe something that can reduce noise, but itsnt to expensive!

Thanks.

The cheapest way would be to bungee mod it in there with some elastic material. Search the forums here for 'bungee mod', lot's of people have done it with good success.

Otherwise, look to get something like the 'Scythe Hard Disk Stabiliser II'. They are small pieces of metal with rubber in between. You simply screw them into your hard disk, then it screws into the 5.25 bay.

The Scythe are alright but dont really cool or dampen the noise that much. The Zalman HDD coolers are awesome. I had a raptor in the top of my omega with no cooling fans and it sat at 29c. Also the sound dampening was much better. Cost around 12-15£

cheapest and most effective is a bungee / elastic cradle mod.

this is my one - £1.45 of 5mm elastic from a habadashery in town

and here is my inspiration

If you looking a buying sometime these are an ok budget option

Edit: +1 for The Zalman option tetus said above, and the cheaper Scythe offering (that OcUK don't stock)

Thos bodge jobs look cool. But as its a new case, i wanted summin shiny. Those asaka mounts might do the biz, but ive had zalman stuff in the past and its just awesome.

Will removing the 3.5 bays from the eclipse increase airflow that much?

I found the Sythe brackets very cheap, so will use those, would it be an idea to have cooling seeing as the HD is no longer in front of the fans? in that case i would get the zalman.
