Daughter needs a recordable freeview set top box.
She cant get Sky and Virgin is not available in the area.
She does have sky broadband though.
Looking for the best bang for buck.

I'm ambivalent on Humax now -
both my HD humax t2-fox (freeview) and foxstat versions have been reliable, but the quality of the mpeg noise reduction algorithms for both HD and SD channels is very poor compared to my Panasonic tv's inbuilt freeview, so I try to watch directly on tv
(I know these are older models now but if anything they have cost cut their boxes now)

Could look at a second-hand BT TV box, the DTR-T4000 is good and can probably be picked up cheap from someone who's now out of contract.

Humax have new boxes out this year - FVP-4000 & FVP-5000 etc meant to be pretty good.
Alternatively pick up a second hand/nearly new/unwated BT G4 box and enjoy Youview/freeview. Dont need to subscribe to BT.
