I am building a new pc and was just wondering what the best option using a traditional hardrive setup is for fast boot and games?

was thinking how great my f1 spinpoint 500gb is in my current pc, very fast quiet and all that. But sometimes when loading stuff in games windows seems to be doing its bit now and then, presumably windows can cause some stutter if your game is really loading hard and windows wants to do a few minor things aswell? at least thats what it seems to do.

would i be better of getting a second HD just for games as I was thinking then no OS disk activity would slow it down? Am I right to think this.

current idea is 500GB F1 boot drive (kind of want a bit faster but ssd is too pricey)
2x 500GB F1 in RAID 0 for games

also what is the best way to backup your pc? I have easustodo and it creates a ghost image.. so i guess i need a 4th disc 1TB and compress the image?

any ideas:)

I currently have a Seagate 7200.12 500GB hdd with a 50GB partion for OS and it is fast and quiet. Currently getting read and write speeds of around 120mb/s.

Just took delivery of a 1TB F3 drive for more storage.
