Hi

Please can someone clear something up for me. I just want a dvd player that will play a HD-DVD movie disc.

I have seen the following DVD player whilst searching google - Kiss DP600 which purports to be a High Definition Media Player. When I look at the disc formats it supports there is no mention of HD-DVD support, yet the playback support suggests that it will playback Windows Media 9 HD

Is windows media 9 HD different to your standard HD-DVD disc purchased from your normal high street music store?

Very confused, sorry if Im not making any sense. My setup at home consists of a Sony Bravia 36" HDTV which also has component and DVI sockets as well as a HDMI socket.

Players like the Kiss play high definition computer files stored on your pc or an external hard drive.

To play an HD-DVD you need a suitable player, only ones at the moment are the Toshiba HD-E1 and the Xbox add-on.

Windows Media 9 are just regular DVD's with HD files on them, you can play them back on a pc or a player like the Kiss, can't be played back on any normal players, even HD-DVD ones.

Sorry to jump in - anyone have one of these kiss players? What's the picture quality like - my current 'cheapo' standalone dvd player that plays divx files is appalling compared to my 'decent' DVD player

I've been after something that will stream video (in a multitude of formats) from my PC and this would appear to do the job. If I understand correctly that it will stream HD video files from my PC and display them in HD on my HD telly......
