Hi guys, hope this is in the right section.

Just got a OCZ Agility Series 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive back from OCUK and installed it in a PC they kindly made for me last year. It's showing up in Device Managed but not in Explorer or in any way accessible. Mobo etc details below:

Mobo: gigabyte ga-ex58-ud3r
OS HD: Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB SATA SSHD
Running Windows XP SP3

Does it maybe need reassigning in the BIOS (if that's the term, sorry am not PC literate)?

Thanks for any help :)

go to control panel
administrative tools
computer management
disk management

see if its in there and assign it a drive letter

A faster way to open the Disk Management snap-in is to Run "diskmgmt.msc".
(Windows+R opens the Run dialog box.)

You will probably need to "Initialise" the disk before assigning a drive letter.

From MS Technet: "If the disk is a basic disk that is already partitioned and formatted, you can use it without initializing, but it will initially appear "offline" in Disk Management. If it's a brand-new disk that has never been partitioned or formatted, you need to initialize it first"

Hi gents,

Not long after I put the disk in I started to have problems which I assumed were the new disk, so I took it out - turned out to be a Flash issue. Just got around to putting it back in and now it's not showing up anywhere other than in the BIOS. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention, I'm running Windows xp.

And for some reason (was it a recent update) I can no longer right-click on anything in the Start menu, such as My Computer.
