HD problem?

Well over the past couple of days I've been having trouble booting my computer. As I turn it on it takes ages for the computer to load up but it never gets past the black screen, I see all the information at the start but when it hits the 'loading operating system' it sticks on there for 5+ minutes then it says fail to boot and ask me to boot from CD. It takes me about 5-10 restarts to actually boot up my computer.

Is my SSD dying or is it something else? I'm not a tech guy

Are you using a HDD or a SSD as your boot disk as you mention both? Also can you tell us which model of HDD or SSD you are using?

Im using a SSD for my boot up,

OCZ Vertex 2 "25nm Edition" 80GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTX80G)
