HD Software Players

I have a few MKV movies. I play them through Total Media Theatre. Only thing being is that I need to use a AC3 Filter to get sound.

Anyway, if I was to purchase a Bluray/HDDVD drive for my HTPC, does PowerDVD and the like decode the sound, or so you still require AC3 etc?

Yep, powerdvd will decode the sound. You wont need ac3filter.

VLC will still need an AC3 filter
