My organisations corporate network currently use whats app gold to monitor server status and produce alerts if a server's status changes or a partition on a disk hits a pre-defined space threshold.
What we can't generate currently is a report of where in particular the space is being occupied. We have a couple of server dedicated to departmental divisions and we do our best to monitor sizes etc and instruct line managers to keep on top of them.
We use sequoia view and space sniffer currently which gives a general overview of which folders are occupying x amount of space, however as the folder structures are huge we spend a fair amount of time sourcing the root causes.
We would ideally like some software that would generate a report perhaps once an hour showing % increases/decreases of file storage and hopefully the users that have copied the files.
Any suggestion greatly appreciated!
EDIT: costs not necessarily an issue providing it fits the criteria, bonus marks for software package that can locate duplicates (although we do have some tools/ powershell scripts for this)
