Hello :)

I am working on a partnership with Twitch.tv, and they've invited me to start streaming in the summer as part of a project. The only requirement is that I will be required to stream in 1080p, and I do not think my current system will handle it.

I currently have the following:

1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) -
1 x Gigabyte Z77MX-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
1 x PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 600W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
1 x MSI Radeon R9 270X Gaming Edition OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

What are the most obvious upgrades to you? I have no past experience of streaming, and so I have no idea what the hardware requirements are. I have noticed that all the major streamers have Intel i7's.

CPU is pretty important for streaming, your mobo supports the i7 3770k which would improve streaming performance the most.

You could also replace the graphics card but that wouldn't help as much, maybe a 280x or a 770

Not sure how well it works, but don't nvidia cards have the ability to stream straight to twitch through shadowplay?

I think asus AMD cards can, too. They have a utility: http://rog.asus.com/tag/gpu-tweak-streaming/

Maybe some other graphics card manufacturers have something like that too, I would still say that you should upgrade the CPU first, or you could overclock your current one
