using samsung 32" 1080p tv full hd

running his ati radeon hd 5850 1gb

First thing, have you set the resolution for the TV to 1920x1080 (1080p)?

If you have, check the TV and see if you can set it to "game mode" where there is no picture processing done by the TV.

If that doesn't help, follow these instructions if the picture doesn't fully fill the screen properly (or some of the picture is off screen).

cmndr i have the same issue with my 5830...on 1080p tft. however when i enable gpu scaling it works in windows so i have full screen..

however when i load a dx10 game (Company of heroes) i get the underscan borders again when i set it to 1080p...if i use 720p or any 0ther non native res it runs full screen no underscan problem.

however if i used 10.5 catalyst it seems to work properly. except coh crashes with a ATi driver problem:/

rgrgrg..
