Hi,

Interested to know how different the performance of the Intel I5 2500k onboard graphics are from the Radeon 5770 card?

Thanks

I can't seem to find a direct comparison, but this review compares the i5 2500K's onboard graphics core (HD 3000) with the AMD/ATI HD 5570.

Then this review compares the performance of the HD 5570 and HD 5770.

In conclusion: Pretty big difference (maybe around 6x).

HD3000 is very weak and unable to run anything at any sort of average settings.

5770 is on the other hand a decent carf that will play most games at decent resolutions and good settings.

Simple as that. Intel's integrated graphics are not made for gaming. AMD's integrated graphics are much better so if you MUST go for integrated graphics go for LLano processors. If not just get a discrete card.

Your also forgetting one other major issue with Intel onboard graphics - drivers. With AMD you get regular monthly drivers plus hot fixes for urgent issues, the last time Intel updated their drivers Noah had just finished his ark.
