Ok guys - let's see the highest core and memory that you can get on your cards - it has to be artifact free( I use ati tools) and fully stable.

I get 850 core and:
1261 memory.

Do some of you have a very good chip/memory?

Ahh...the fan speed is only at set points.

That would explain the fans not sticking at in-between settings .etc 30%

So..0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.

I have ati tools run the fan at 50% once the core goes up to a certain temperature.:)


That bios mod sounds the way to go then. Is the bios mod at an early stage - is there going to be a final release?

ati tool and rivatuner dont do it for me.

Wouldn't have thought it was so hard to do..unless ati have closed that area off and/or not easy to break into.

Would sort the computer out good and proper getting upgraded coolers on them.

Yeah I agree . I don't know what ati were doing with the fans and how they've set them on the 3870s.

Durso - memory set to 1300 - youve got another of the 3870s with good memory then.:p Let us know how you get on with the Accelero.

ok..if I get the Thermalright hr-o3

Will the HR-03 Rev.A fit it..and will I have to do any modifications ?

I like it that the fan sits at the back as the 2nd is so tight at the bottom in my p182 case.
 
yeah thanks funny enough just as I posted I noticed the gt version.
Well... I'm just planning to get the one hr-03 so I can have it on reverse.
Are there cheaper ones then that you can have in reverse?
 
ok cheers. Yeah the Zalmans are looking appealing . Well I looked at the hr-03 last night and its 7.5 cm deep with a fan on - too deep to fit in between the cards so no go either back or front .Way to big but very nice!

I think I might go for either of those two Zalmans. :D
