This seems a bit weird, a new, (fairly) highly anticipated piece of hardware came out and no one has bought/given a review of it on here...Where's all the ATI fan boys gone, does it beat GTX 280, is it a failed pricepoint seller and will DangerMouse stop the Baron before he takes over the world??

I think there is one review on the website for it. Purchaser was impressed I think. 300, for the 2gig imo, is slightly steep though not a rip off.

basically, before the pound went to crap it was going to be aimed at the £250 for 1gig pricepoint, the 4870x2 was £320-330 when we were expecting it to come. When it launched the 4870x2 had risen to the best part of £400 and people were being asked to part basically old 4870x2 price for the new lower specced(though not much) 4850x2 which rather stopped it in its tracks. It also seems to have had a rather lacklustre release as I guess it was going to be launched when the newer Nvidia 55nm parts were released 3 months ago, except Nvidia never got those parts out on time so it was important to put in a stupidly good value card when they can make more cash on the 4870x2.. its still great value so I can't argue with them not wanting to shoot themselves in the foot on the 4850x2.

The 1Gig version at £250 is actually great value, the 512 vs 1gb argument is basically null and void for most resolutions, basically Grid and GTA are about the only games that "can" use more, Grid is still fine without and GTA sucks even with 1GB cards so hardly a great argument. But again the 1gig version would have been £200 without the pounds death recently, which again would have gotten a lot of sales at that price.

Folk may be waiting to see which other manufacturers throw their hat in the ring. Sapphire ain`t everyones cup of tea :)

I got one sat next to me waiting to be reviewed (2048). I'll be pitching it up vs GTX280

Its priced ok as 2x 1gb 4850's seperately are dearer, and they are faster than the GTX 280's from what ive seen, and those are dearer as well.

Also isnt a case of it took 3 months to come to market after initial announcements and G200b was too close (e.g. GTX295 previews today), so people are waiting.
