HD4870 at 75 degrees

just a quick question...my new HD4870 is at 75 degrees under load according to GPU-Z.

Is this a safe temp?

Very safe temp, they can sub stain much higher temps than 75c so your all good.

I have found my 4870 really sensitive to heat when overclocking. Would freeze nearly everytime when testing in 3d mark but as soon as i cranked the fan speed up it passes everytime! Can't say what temps cause this as this was some quick and dirty overclocking last night and only just getting my replacement card!

Read that first as most have found extreme temps on stock let alone ocing so even though the air temps are much better now these cards get insanely hot on stock HSF so be prepared for an RMA if you push it too far on stock HSF.

75 is actually quite good
