Hi.

Anyone who has the following:

Furmark
Everest Ultimate (latest version preferably)

Can you run furmark, window mode, 1280x1024, stability and post a screenie or tell me your VRM temps.

I'm hitting 105 atm and seems tons of ATi 4870 suers are getting em reading 126 degrees aswell!!!

sorry that was idle will run a test with the programme you want

well with furmark my temps in everest was
100deg
80deg in gpu-z

I've been looking into this since i got my card a few weeks ago


The vrms are hitting 100C+ when Furmark is running on all of the 4870s i've seen. Mine hit around 90C+ when running crysis as well.
However,temps when measured with an Infa-red thermometer, they are only showing between 50C-60C under load(kindly done by Holwill on another forum)

My card is under water & idles around 30C & low 40C Loaded,but the vrms were a bit of an issue,i have a 120mm fan blowing direct onto the vrms(they all have heatsinks on btw) It makes little difference. My card seems perfectly stable & is not too hot to touch,so i stopped worrying about it;)


RavenXXX2....could you run Furmark bench please,not ATI Tool & post a screenie of temps then;)

RavenXXX2, you are right, nothing wrong with the stock cooler. I cant do with the noise of that cooler though, if I have it on silent the core hits 100 degrees, now with the accelero S1 I'm idling about 44 and loading at 60.

Yea I have my core at 830/1000 and it was running furmark fine for some times untill I exited it, been running games fine as far as I can see too even though the VRM apparently peak at 105, I think maybe if it fails (due to the VRM's) then I'll get the card RMA's, some people say its dodgy 4870's as some of em are getting 40+ at load and thats about it.

ATi tool still gets mine high, I ran rthdribl and it got to about 81.
 
That's fair enough, you want a more silent PC, i don't mind the very little noise it pumps out at 30-35%, have you not voided your warranty with removing the stock heatsink.

Proberbly have but I can put it back on.

See to you 35% is very little noise, to me I can hear it from downstairs if I listin carefull and its very loud.
