HD5450 can't play anything!

Hello

I'm trying to use a HD5450 until I can buy something less crap but it cannot launch any games

Well I've only tried two, CODMW3 and NFSHP, both via steam. When I try and launch CODMW3 I get an error saying "DirectX Error DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error. Check the readme for possible solutions."

So I tried installing DX9.0c and DX10 but both say that I have a later version already installed (DX11).

When I try and launch NFSHP it brings up a config tool where you are suppose to select the resolution you want the game to run at (aswell as a webcam option and choosing the graphics device). There are no options listed in the screen resolution drop down menu, you can type a resolution in yourself but this didn't work.
So when I click on save and exit I get an error saying "Cannot start the graphics device, check your settings in the Config Tool."

I then decided to try a different driver (was using 11.12) I downloaded and installed 11.10 and restarted the PC, now when I try and launch CCC my PC slows down and my mouse moves really slowly, CCC doesnt load properly all I can see is an adertisement for Warhammer 40K... If I close CC via the task manager my PC is back to normal (no longer slow).

This is a newly built PC so fresh install of Win7

Any idea's guys, I just want to play something! (even if it is at 800x600 minimum everything).

Have you installed the motherboard drivers?

Yup

Oh forgot to mention earlier that with the 11.12 driver I could run 3DMark11, now with 11.10 I get an error when I try and launch 3DMark11

"Workload Single init returned error message: DXGI call IDXGIOutput::GetDisplayModeList failed:

An undetermined error occurred

E_FAIL"

I'm going to uninstall 11.10, its horrible (for me)

Double check you have the latest drivers for everything

Yeah got all the latest drivers, even the latest BIOS for my mobo.

Try reseating the graphics card. As others have suggested, make sure that you have everything up to date. If you are still experiencing problems contact our technicians, either by phone, webnote or through the customer support forums.

installed the card in the second PCI-E slot and now working fine (after driver install) YAY! no error's at all.

I feel stupid
