Hd5870 and crysis

got a powercolor hd5870, been replaying crysis, when all of a sudden after about 10 checkpoints it crashed.
now i boot it up, i get to start loading my save game, after press any key to start. the screen goes black then the normal desktop comes up after a few seconds, no crysis
was using cat 10.3, tried beat 10.4 still does it
any help welcome

Have you tried loading other saved files? There may be a chance when the game crashed, the save wasn't carried out properly and you ended up with a corrupted save.

Have you patched the game? There was a few problems with memory leaks before it was patched.

its patched, and i played this game through on my trusty 8800gtx
