Hello folks,

I bought my HD5870 back in September 2009 along with other parts to build a gaming PC.

Up until a week or so ago, it's been running fine, no problems whatsoever. The highest temp it's ever been under load (during CoD:MW2/WoW on full graphic settings etc) was around the 60 degree mark. However it's been increasing now and again, I just spotted it was up to 75 degrees, which prompted me to pop onto here.

In the ATI Overdrive I always left the Manual Overdrive for the fan control switched off and it's kept the temp while gaming at a constant. Now I'm finding I have to manually set the fan to around 50% to keep it around 55 degrees while gaming.

Any feedback on to why my year-old card is being a nuisance and getting to temperatures well above what it normally is, would be appreciated.

Cool, thanks for that.

I just got a little spooked, not entirely sure what the safe "range" is.

I'll continue to monitor it, if it starts playing up any further then I'll throw it outside into the snow.

When i had my 5870 xfire on the UD5 the top card would run all day at 85c, the card will throttle performance at approx 95c and thermal shut down is around 115-120c i think

Thanks for the feedback lads :)

I'll give the case another hooring with the hair-dryer in the next couple of days.
