HD6870 Bottom DVI port dead.

I purchased a gfx card from the MM and it arrived today. I installed it with the latest drivers.

I have 2 monitors which both are VGA so I use VGA to DVI connectors on both of them.

The top DVI port on the card works fine but when I connect another monitor to the port underneathe it I get no signal at all. I've swapped them around and they both work so I know it's not a monitor issue. As said the bottom port just seems totally dead.

Is this a faulty card or something else?

Try Windows button and P. I think that's what it is.

Nothing will happen until you tell the card what to do if memory serves.

IE ; when I connected my TV to the HDMI port on my 7970 nothing happened.

The bottom DVI port is DVI-D only, it can't send VGA signals.Try a DisplayPort to VGA adapter instead?

So to get that bottom port working with a montor, I'd have to go straight dvi-dvi cable?

Or you can use a DisplayPort to VGA adapter if your monitors have no DVI ports.

I believe so yes, or DVI-HDMI.
