HD6870 Corruption..

I got my new HD6870 yesterday and put it in my PC. Played a brief bit of COD last night to see what it was like and had no problems.

Tonight I put Fallout 3 on to carry on with that and as soon as I got into the game I had lots of weird lights and graphical corruption. I took some screenshots in game but when I viewed them afterwards there was no corruption. After I quit Fallout it was still weird in Windows when I sent my mate a message on MSN and had bits of text missing.

I rebooted and its been fine since. Even in Fallout! I'm running the 10.10 drivers and I did have some issues with them on my HTPC.

Any ideas or is my new graphics card faulty?

Well I tried to play some COD tonight and got more graphical corruption. Got some screenshots this time..

what temps are you getting ? , rest of system specs ?

I haven't checked the temps but the fan on the card isn't spinning up much, not compared to my old GTX280 anyway. The CPU isn't running very hot.

I've got a Q6600 running at 3.2GHz, 4GB RAM, latest drivers for everything as I formatted when I put this card in.

check your temperatures before ruling out overheating. I think ATI Catalyst Control can show the temps on the card.

If not then download ATI Tool, you can monitor temps on that, plus run a stress test on the card.

I did check the CCC but couldn't see temps in there, I'll check the temps tonight while OcUK get back to me about an RMA..

Well the temps are all OK, sits at about 50-55C in Windows on the desktop then got up to 80-80C in CoD. It errored first time I loaded into Windows last night and had corruption in CoD, then when I rebooted it was fine again.. I've got an RMA sorted now so I'm just going to send it back and be cardless for a few days.
