Hi.
well bassicly a few months ago my computer stopped working turns out my motherboard had packed in and also the graphics card i had 6870 had been faulty. After sending it back to oc they tested it and yes it was faulty the sent me a sapphire 6870 and now the new mobo was installed i thought everything would be ok. butt no the new 6870 was not being picked up on screen(fans everythng is on)

My old card ati4350 works fine with the mobo.
but not a thing happens when i try the 6870. i have the same mobo as before and i used a 6870 then so im kinda lost why nothing at all is being picked up on screen..

any ideas why..
thanks

Have you plugged the 6 pin power connector into the graphics card?

What type of connection are you using between graphics card and monitor?

What's the make and model of the monitor?

Also to add to watch Surveyor has said, what is the make and model of your PSU???

It may not have enough watts or amps to power the card.

Yeah i have plugged both in im using hdmi and the model is a samsung syncmaster t2000

and the psu is a ocuk 650w i used this psu with a xfx 6870 im not sure if theres a diffrence with the sapphire version.

Thanks again

OcUK 650W, not the best in the world but if you say it works.

I can't see a T2000 so is it a T200?

If the monitor has DVI or VGA inputs try one of those.

If you try the VGA remember a DVI/VGA adapter only works in one of the DVI connectors on the graphics card.

Also make sure that the card is properly seated in the PCI-E slot and that the slot is free from dust etc.

I assume you remembered to switch the input over on the monitor when you tried the different connections?

It does sound as if the graphics card may be duff.

What you really need to do to confirm this is try it in another PC.

There's always a possibility it's the power supply but unless you have another one to try...

wow sorry i forgot to mention that i have just got it back from overclockers they said it worked.

Yeah i have tryed everything i know about the psu is a cheap make but its powerd the old 6870 perfect.

is it maybe somthing to do with bios and yeah i was switching the channel when using diffrent connections
