HD6950 RAM cooling

So I just pulled the fan off my 6950 and over the ram we have this metal L shape. Due to the non-ref card i've got EK HF universal GPU blocks, so aslong as they fit, should i leave these on as heatsinks? The cooler never touched them so wasn't transferring the heat.. Image below;

If the cooler hasn't touched them, then i presume that some cool air blowing over it should be enough, but i'd wait for someone who knows what he's taklking about to post

Yeah, pretty much what I was thinking. Looks lots better than loads of little sinks too.

I'm hoping the side pannel fan will be enough.

Probably, but a spot oil wouldn't hurt and it's really small.
