Link in DH's first post, anyone tried it out yet? I will give it a try if I get chance over the weekend, but a little look at the voltage limits....

From what I understand, changing this 'VID Signal' value forces the voltage to default to what you wish!

I cannot stress this enough, if you are not sure about bios flashing, don't do it, if you can't figure out the tool, ask someone else to do it for you, unless you are on phase/LN2 DO NOT use a bios with the 1.8v core voltage shown above.

I'm going to grab a lightning bios and see if it will let me change that too, then consider buying another :D

Well well well, how interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I suppose it couldn't hurt to have the card be undervolted at all times even before AB loads. It'd be nice not to have to manually reapply settings after waking from Zerocore as well.

Mainly interested to see if the program gets clock changing support. I can't seem to reliably underclock with AB. Games run fine with underclocks but certain programs force the stock 880mhz even if I've applied an underclock in AB. That way I'd probably run some 800mv 750mhz-ish profile most of the time... since things like watching movies, and games like DmC, Max Payne 3, and Dishonored among others seem to use less than 50% of the stock 880mhz my bios comes with.
 
It may come in time, afaik this hasn't been in development long :)

Now who has a 'locked' 7970 that wants to try setting a higher stock 3d voltage? In theory it should work, setting say 1.25v should be perfectly fine for air...

I've made a patched bios for my msi ocs, just to 1.2v to test the waters, then a 1.4v bios for benching :D

Also thanks to Matt & tommy for giving me the heads up of this tool.
 
Majority of 7000 series cards should have dual bios switches, so there isn't much risk of a perma brick.

I'll try my card with a minor nudge on the voltage and get some before and afters in the process.

Haven't flashed an amd/ati card in a few years, dos boot stick still generally considered the safest way?

I hope the tool evolves to give memory volt and clock setting control too. Set my cards at a permanent 1250/1800 :D
 
1.5v should be ok for chilled benches, the vrm temps may be more important then core.

You got some 7000 series to bench this weekend T? Remember 1400+ should see you take out a stock titan ;)
 
Single switch on my card. One thing I wasn't happy about with this card.

My replacement 7970 turned up, so i have two the bench. Was going to finish some of my other cards though, but with this bios editor i might see what i can get out of my cards instead :D :D

The VRMS are normally within 1c of the core, so pretty good.
