Hi all,
I have a VTX HD7750 1GB in an older spare machine that is starting to show the limits of what it can appreciably do (it is used primarily as a media player and server of sorts that sits under the TV in the living room).
It can run something like Mass Effect Andromeda, at 720P with all settings on Low(est), and with around 25-45FPS (depending on map and enemies), but on a large TV, it's actually quite servicable (assuming I compensate myself inside the game, which is just about doable). But the system it sits in really isn't used for intense gaming anyway, just for when there are more people around (or I get bored in front of the main rig on the desk). So really it's fine, but I know when something is bordering on needing to be upgraded, and this GPU is reaching that point now after nearly a decade in service.
So, just wondering what are the equivalent (low power) GPUs available at the moment?
1. Would prefer silent (Fanless) options, but not sure that's possible anymore given architectures in use and the heat they dump out these days.
2. Would like something without a need for extra Power (PCIe x6 or x8) if possible, but can allow for it if there's suitable GPU available.
3. Budget? Preferably nothing more than £150. But can extend a bit if suitable.
My direct knowledge of GPU's ended with the RX580/Vega/1080 Ti generation (so around 2-3 years old; when I needed to replace a HD7950), so unsure what if any, other new analagous alternatives there are to look at that's available now.
The rig components with this GPU at the moment are:
i5 3570 (4Ghz at 1v load and 0.65-0.7v idle)
Corsair H100i (Original, not the newer one)
Gigabyte D3H
16GB RAM
1 120GB SSD - Boot
1 500GB HDD (SATA)
Corsair HX620 PSU
Cosair 300R Case (Modded the AIO to go in front of case with 2x 120mm Fans as Intake, with 2x 120mm Fans Exhaust at top)
Thanks all. Any and all help appreciated.
