Hi everyone

with the amazing prices on amd range at present, I just wondred whether anyone had experience of running a hd 7950 / 7970 at 2560 * 1440 (especially if overclocked) - will be running probably alongside an overclocked fx8320

cheers

Ian

I run mine at 1050/1350 and it handles 1440p fine. I don't bother with AA (don't feel 1440p needs it enough for the performance hit).

I run the Asus 7950 Top @ stock (900 core) with i2700K @ 4.5 and no problems to date with 1440p

Did consider crossfire but decided against it simply because I would not see much , if any , benefit for large cost (I would need not only to buy a new card but also upgrade both psu and watercooling loop).

I grant you that one would not be enough if you wanted to run every game with ultra settings with every bell and whistle but for me one is enough AND , assuming that your board/psu/cooling is good enough, should you find that one is not enough you could always add a second :)
