More details here:

Instead of the default clockspeed of 800MHZ,the newer cards have a variable clockspeed between 850MHZ to 925MHZ. The 12.6 drivers are used.

There is a download link to the BIOS used in the review from AMD,but as the article states there is no guarantee it will work - I suspect only cards with the reference PCB and dual BIOS might work.

Supposedly, the price will be the same as the current HD7950 3GB and they will be released next month.

Is 850mhz to 925mhz a discernible difference in FPS?

Some games show little difference and others upto 12FPS difference at 1920X1080.

Of course,it is very obvious this feature is to make the HD7950 look better in reviews, especially with the GTX660TI being released soon, and also for people who don't overclock their graphics card.

Hmmm, interesting, my X-Edition has 880 stock clocks, but if this boosts up to 925... tempted to flash. Anyone know what the requirements on the boost are (like with the 7970), do the cards always go up to those clocks or is it temp dependant etc?

Will wait and see what the feedback is like :)
