So yeah, another AMD problem. I think in my case it is going to be my 100th issue with AMD cards. There should be a section called "AMD Problems" where everyone can post their issues with AMD, and so I can see how bad AMD actually suck, and not just for me.

Issues, issues and more issues. Does it ever end?
Any chance you guys could tell me, does AMD drivers have self-awareness, are they intelligent and mean? From my experience I say that they like to toy with us, users.

Ok let me explain my 1210821892 problem with AMD, what happened.
Yesterday I have build a new system for my friend and had to use one of my three monitors so I could install system on it and everything else. I have used monitor that connects via DVI (other two are DP connected), everything was fine, till I plugged it back to my system.

So what is the issue? I won't ask you to guess because of amount of problems you get with AMD, it is not really possible to answer the question.
OK! The middle screen started to blink/flicker. Every few seconds/minutes, screen blinks for 0.5sec, goes black and then back. Sometimes it just keeps repeating, sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes for it to blink/flick. It is seriously annoying, and when I change DP ports on the card, it totally freaks out. It makes different lines all over the screen and ****, flickers like crazy.

Driver re installation didn't help.
What could be the issue, faulty cable, **** AMD cards, drivers that worked fine for few weeks?

Kill me.

Please fully star out all swear words -w3bbo

From the amount of times you've had issues with AMD, i'm surprised you built a system for your friend with AMD cards!!!!
Maybe if you asked a question in a normal manner instead of slating AMD on every line people could understand what your problem is, and to me it sounds like a configuration issue.
I'm sure someone who runs multi monitors on a cf 7970 like yours will be along soon to help such a friendly person like you.

Please play nicely and Corssair you need to fully replace the swear word.

OcUK would like you and your whole family to learn and share via our forums. For this reason swearing and the posting of "adult" or offensive material is forbidden. Simply replacing some of the letters in a swearword with a * or any other character is not acceptable. If you must then please replace the whole word with ***** or other repeated character. Those who post for the sole purpose of causing trouble are not welcome here and will be dealt with accordingly.

Nice ninja edit dave...

But yeah, I agree with him. The chances of AMD being te sole cause for all these problems is extremely slim. Chances are its PEBKAC, so chill for a bit and try thinking straight. I understand youre frustrated, but starting A flame war really won't help :)

I'm getting the exact same issue with onboard graphics, so not just an AMD issue. Try a new cable first.

You are not being sarcastic, I hope. In fact that doesn't matter. I have rights to be frustrated after spending all that money on something that doesn't work as it should. I can't be bothered any more of being nice towards AMD, as it just gives me too much hassle.
Single AMD card doesn't cause so much issues in 1080p, and it is has better developed drivers because AMD had so much to do so now.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I'm calm now. Just please understand, I do not have time to deal with things like that, I work full time and I have full time college, not a single day off, and when I come back home I would like to relax and play games, not deal with even more issues after a heavy day.
I can't play normal for a full week, and it's not because I'm a noob and can't solve things. What could I do wrong by unplugging and then plugging the cable back, without touching the other two monitors? How did it happen that the other monitor started to flicker? Serious, dark magic.

And that Mass Effect 3 video is mine, so I can't really ask for help my own self.

So is it the system you built for a friend or your own rig?
I seem to remember you RMA'ing card(s) and a hot capacitor on your ROG motherboard - You had it fixed and working?

The other system I built was for my friend. Assembled yesterday, installed new AMD drivers with totally no issues. How do you know though? I can't remember posting it here.

I have RMA'd one of the cards sometime ago, got it refunded cause it was displaying artefacts in few games and ATItool. When the new one came everything was fine, till the driver issue didn't happen. About the heat-sink around CPU, I got it solved. Went to ROG forums and one of the guys tested it for me, he had the same. It went hot when there were no fans blowing air onto it, so I reserved the rear fan(it is intake now, not exhaust) and the mobo doesn't go as hot anymore.

Lol, thats right... Ehh too much for today I guess.

Its definitely not the ports fault, as the other monitor does not flicker on any and the flickering one flickers like crazy on both.

It is possible for me to check the cables, I mean swap them and see if one of them is faulty. Ill do it tomorrow though as there is some complicated cable management and it takes some time to take off.

I have a similair issue - 2 x 7950's on 1xDVI 2xDP. Does it happen in game? Mine is fine while gaming but anything like desktop or IE causes flickering. Particularly if i click the start menu - it flickers like mad.

Run Youtube in the background and see if it flickers then? Could be the idle speends being too low.

Also, what AMD card do you have? How are the monitors connected? Does it happen if you connect to it directly via DVI? Could be the Displayport adapter if you're using one?

He said everything was fine on his system prior to this:-

He disconnected 1 monitor to test a new rig he'd built for a friend, when he plugged his system back into the same monitor using the same cable that had been fine and working it was flickering etc

I had the exact same problems with amd cards using a mixture of dvi and display port connections. Have a hunt around the net and you'll see many users with the same issues. I gave up in the end and went for the 690 as it has 3 x dvi connectors and now I have no tearing/black screens in surround.
