I'm in the market for a widescreen LCD with HDCP. I'd prefer a DVI connection (as opposed to HDMI), but frankly there seem to be so few that I don't think I have the luxury of choice.

I have a budget of around £250. Does anyone know any models to look at, because I'm getting frustrated quickly :(

That one looks very nice indeed. As ever I'm assuming 2ms is an unrealistic best-case measurement but as my current 17" LG is rated at 12ms then it can only be an improvement.

As you say though, it's totally out of stock everywhere. I'll wait til Jan and see if I can get one in the sales, just in time for Vista.

i think i am going to preorder the asus 22" tomorrow.. i cant see any way in which the price will come down further but will just check out tomorrows this week only offers and see what comes up.. otherwise i think il go for the asus. looks like a very nice monitor indeed

Samsung SyncMaster 225BW is HDCP

Is not HDCP just DVI-D with extra pins for sound? Can not one convert one to the other via an adapter thus making almost any TFT able to use the HDMI output you have?

HDCP is the protection that is used over HDMI. Both the output and input have to support HDCP over HDMI to be able to display protected content i.e. HD DVDs.

HDMI is the digital picture with sound included, yes :)
