My wife bought me a 24" HKC monitor for xmas which is ok for gaming , but is not hdcp compatible,(i forgot to tell her about this)
is there any mod or software i can get to watch my blu ray films as sadly by bluray player is redundent at the moment

If you are looking for a free/no cost fix then you're out of luck. HDCP requires a bit of hardware in the display. You can't get round that.

You could look in to ripping the BDs to another format that you can play.

If you just want a simple fix to make your BD player talk to a non-compatible TV/monitor then you need to spend money on a hardware solution. Budget £100 - £190

edit: Oh yes....I almost forgot. You'll find lots of people selling HDMI to VGA or Component leads on Ebay. They don't work. HDMI is a digital signal. VGA or Component is analogue. Making one in to the other requires some processing electronics. It can't be done with just a bit of wire. Don't waste your money

HDMI always includes HDCP handling and is always digital too.

DVI can be analogue or digital. If it's digital it can be with or without HDCP.

didnt get an error , just said it was unable to play the disc,i since read somewhere on another forum that power dvd 10 might work

just installed trial version of powerdvd 10 and yes it has worked!! as long as you run it with anydvd
