Hdd against metal?

My new case im making im thinking of putting my hard drive like this, would this work? bad idea? anyway to make it work?

It wasnt the heat i was bothered about, I dont know how a hard drive works but it might have some sort of magnet that if contact with metal while working make stop, I didnt want to test it to find out lol
 
Being next to the psu won't matter in terms of magnets.

It'll be bad acoustically, and if the casing of the psu gets hot it'll be bad for the hard drive. A piece of 3mm closed cell foam between the psu and the hdd will thermally isolate the two and reduce transmitted vibrations. You need to do something to cool the hard drive down, normally this is done by screwing the drive into a metal case and allowing some airflow over the drive. That looks like a 2.5" drive which won't need much cooling.

So, it'll work, but it's not ideal.
