I am looking for an easier way to backup my data rather than switching machine off, opening side and then plugging a HDD up then copying stuff then removing the drive and putting the side back on.

USB Docks dont seem to be 6TB Friendly so was looking at internal caddies, I assume as they are using the internal SATA ports there will be no issues and I was looking at this one.

I dont mind turning my machine on and off if need be but its a hassle opening the side, unplugging the dvd drive and directing the cables to the HDD then putting them back.

Would the above be ok for what I am after.

Well I don't think IcyBox IB-138SK-B 3.5" SATA Mobile Rack will work with modern SATA drives at 2TB and 6TB too as the product is 10 years old and only supported SATA 1.5! It very hard to find any other internal caddies capable to supported 6TB HDD as it did not stated in product specs as many supported up to 2TB.

I was looked for new USB dock to use my new 4TB HDDs but my USB dock only supported up to 2TB. I found Inateck FD1003 and FD1005 USB docks supported 6TB HDDs and probably supported 8TB HDDs too.

Mediasonic ProBox HND1-SU3 USB dock confirmed supported 8TB HDD but the product not available in the UK market.

I will order Inateck FD1003 USB dock later.

Why don't you route some power/data cable extensions out the back of the case and connect the drive that way? Seems easier and cheaper, unless you have a case design that doesn't allow this

Just found other USB dock station Anker USB 3.0 & eSATA to SATA External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5inch HDD & SSD from a customer bought it confirmed he tested 8TB HDD worked fine on Anker.
