My laptop blue-screened half hour ago, on its reboot its no longer recognising the HDD, booting just says "no operating system" and the bios is showing no HDD.

so - its nackered

Can anyone recommed me a good, reliable, fast data recovery service who can get the data off my drive - its fully encrypted with truecrypt to make it a bit trickier!!

This is urgent, and before anyone asks, no I dont have a backup of the machine in the recent past.

Yeah its worth a fair bit with things like the company accounts on the laptop and a VAT return due this month they are critical!!

I've sent the drive off and will find out tomorrow what the damage is and recovery cost.

We had to do it a few months ago, a company wasn't backing up their data and 2 drives failed in their RAID0 (Not something we set up :p).

It cost them £300 for diagnostics and then around £2,600 for a 48 hour turn around from OnTrak. They were happy to pay it though, as the financial data on there was worth around £1mil+ we reckon.

They sharply replaced every single bit of kit in the company after that little mishap, and the bloke who was responsible for backups on site got a swift kick up the rear.

we did backup everything....except that laptop!!

We have now added additional backups to "the cloud" of any critical data in addition to the normal backup schedule.
